Abby and I have moved this week from Calcutta to Sikkim, a drastic change of state, geography, people. Calcutta was hot, smelly, full of people and exhaust - but we had a nice time with our hostess and her gregarious son (who married an American woman after three month's acquaintance in a Bollywood-style wedding and is now waiting for his visa to the US) and friends of
Molly and Dylan Fila who they met while working with Word Made Flesh two years ago.
Sikkim is nestled between Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, a small state that seems to have more in common with its Himalayan neighbors than India. Because we decided to come here first and only figured out summer is monsoon later, we are making some adjustments as we go.
