The last part of my sojourn was to Vancouver, home of my home and native land. I went to see It and a few friends.
These friends of mine are/were friends of my parents before I was born. I've gotten to know some of my parents' friends over the past few years. They're really great. I hope someday my kids can know my friends, and think they're equally great.
In this case they are Nancy and Mike Nichols and Jan Porcino. Mike and Jan are ministers at different churches and Nancy gives spiritual direction and life coaching. The latter has been a wise woman in my life. She holds the distinction of most peaceful person I know.
I love it there. Commercial Drive, Granville Island, West Van...after the 2010 Olympics the whole world's gonna know about it all over again.
