We spent one week in Venice and one week in a medieval village in the foothills of the Dolomites.
Tom proposed Venice because neither of us had been there.
Abby said, "I'm proud of you for going somewhere easy."
My boss said, "It's such a cliche."
At the park on the east end of Venice (a bunch
of manmade islands), at the end of a spring day
of manmade islands), at the end of a spring day
Tom found a book at our B&B that listed 'authentic' restaurants, pastry shops, gelaterias, and cafes. We sought out about 10 of them and that was the extent of our programming.
The clock in Piazza San Marco, Venice
A clock in Padova, a city 20 miles inland
We took the train there one day
A cute room in a 600-year-old palazzo I found on AirBnB
Cute = Tom hitting his head on the ceiling every day
That medieval town, Vittorio Veneto,
on the edge of prosecco country
on the edge of prosecco country
An osteria, with cicchetti, snacks
We took the train into the Dolomites one day,
to the end of the line near the Austrian border
Our AirBnB hostess invited us one afternoon
to join her friends at a prosecco winery
to join her friends at a prosecco winery
An installation on Murano island, famous for glass
A good time was had by all.
