Ground Zero

Here’s “The Pit,” as Charlie calls it. The firemen poured 50,000 gallons of water on it. Nothing survived but a few roof tiles. It would have been more difficult to watch it burn than to see the rubble, but it’s a mess.

Hope on the Hillside - Mother, Dad, Charlie, and Aunt Lindi helped put this together in conjunction with the American Cancer Society three days after the fire. The life size cowboy silhouette (modeled after Dad on his horse) stands overlooking I-25.
