Yesterday was a World Cup qualifier game between Malawi and Nigeria. The stadium is a mile from our house, and one of Tom's colleagues arranged a birthday party for her husband around the match, inviting us to their house for a barbecue beforehand. Fun was had by all.

The vendor crowd outside the stadium was pretty festive
I got a sugar cane to gnaw on during the game, which
required 1.5 hrs and a place to spit (both of which I had)

The supporters showed great ingenuity, especially in the
yarn department. In addition to many scarves, we saw a
knit vest, knit skirt, and full knit pants with (knit) suspenders.
We had great seats to see Malawi score the
tying goal five seconds before the end of the game!
